It’s been 40 years since we’ve had this discussion at a federal level. Barney Frank (D-Mass) & Ron Paul (R-Texas) have introduced a bill that will eliminate the federal penalties for possession of marijuana. As one of CNN’s reporter’s put it, “Frank & Paul will have trouble pushing it through congress, and finally the president”. The name of the bill is “Ending Federal Marijuana Prohibition Act of 2011″

NORML has of course setup a page for you to email your congressman/woman. I suggest we all do so. The only way the laws will change is to let your voice be heard. Share it everywhere you can.

Sorry I was absent on the biggest day, but work was hectic, and exhausting all week, and had no energy to do anything but roll and smoke and zone out to the tube. As everyone knows, prohibition does not work. We’ve been saying it for years. Now mexican drug cartels are thanking the US Government for making it illegal!  In one of the quotes from the article ‘El Chapo’ says he’d buy the man dinner whoever came up with the war on drugs.

To me the DEA, NDCP, DOJ should all feel ashamed of themselves. There’s one of the biggest players in the illegal drug trade, pointing and laughing at your stupid little ‘War on Drugs’.

For the readers, if you had the power, how would you go about convincing congress, and the senate that the war is over? What would be your first step? Please leave your comments and your suggestions.

Ok Rhode Island here’s your chance to legalize, or at least have your voice to be heard. Today around 430pm at the Rhode Island State House Room 313, they will be considering reducing the penalties for simple possession. If you’re a Rhode Islander, you may have not heard about it yet, which is usually the case, most of the population has no idea what the house in their state is doing, so I say to Rhode Island get out there! Voice your support!

Now the only thing I don’t like about the Colbert Show is that whenever I see something on it, Colbert jokes it, which I know it’s his thing, and I love him for it! In fact I loved how he approached the idea of marijuana in his questioning, does he smoke? Will we ever know? Interesting idea, celebrities that are Ok with marijuana, stay tuned.

A LEAP spokesman said “Nothing which is illegal can be controlled.” to the Billings Gazette. A very true statement.

Al Capone profited heavily in the alcohol prohibition. By making something illegal, you’ll already have someone wanting to profit off of it. If you were to make Pepsi illegal, someone would be selling them, and tripling, or quadrupling the price. Thus creating a black market, thus leading to violence. Could you imagine being a victim of a drive-by shooting over some Pepsi? When the US government doesn’t know how to deal with a problem, they make a law, thus filling up our prison system with non-violent offenders. Which cost the American Taxpayers about $22,000 a year per inmate.

I’ve been saying this stuff for years! The government has tested it, they aren’t stupid, it all boils down to money. Greedy & Crooked public officials make too much money off the drug war now, as long as it’s profitable for them, they will keep on doing it, and prohibition will continue to yank away our constitutional rights.
